In line with its objectives of fostering socio-economic development and investing in community infrastructure, Sasol has installed solar power panels and a borehole pump at the Emthonjeni Community Centre situated in Zandspruit, north of Johannesburg. This initiative is an extension of Sasol’s three-year relationship with the community centre.
“Water is one of the most important substances on earth hence our investment to secure a sustainable use of water at Emthonjeni Community Centre.” says Christopher Kabosha, Senior Manager: Marketing and Corporate Affairs at Sasol Energy. “This partnership aims to enhance quality support that will impact approximately 80,000 residents in Zandspruit.”
Emthonjeni Community Centre’s Louise Rivett says: “Valuable support from Sasol further assists Emthonjeni Community Centre with its efforts to alleviate social economic challenges in Zandspruit. We believe that Sasol’s investment will have a long lasting and sustainable impact for generations to come.”
In addition, Sasol has continued to demonstrate its commitment to education through sponsoring a 12-month literature and mathematics web-based training programme for learners at the centres.
