The healthcare sector has not been left behind in keeping up with trendy innovations. In fact, healthcare is one of the areas that has benefited most from new tech. Below are a few examples of how smart technology is improving various fields of the healthcare industry.

Intelligent Prescriptions

In some modern hospitals, the pharmacy management system works hand-in-hand with intelligent tools to streamline the processes of medication, treatment, and prescriptions. Some hospitals and pharmacies have already installed intelligent robots capable of dispensing drugs within a negligible margin of error and personalizing prescriptions based on the patient’s medical history.

Using intelligent systems in pharmacies ensures that patients get the treatment that they need. These systems also keep track of the patient’s medical history to work out effective treatments for various health conditions.

Robot-assisted Surgery

Robots have also found their way to the operating theatre and are already beginning to make headlines. Surgeons have been using pre-programmed robot assistants in surgeries for a couple of years now. However, the idea of robot surgeons has jumped to a whole new level.

Today, thanks to advanced AI, surgeons can use fully autonomous robots to make delicate incisions and incredibly neat stitching with astonishing accuracy and speed. These robots use an array of sensors, including cameras, to guide their way around the operating table, while still monitoring the patient’s vitals to inform decisions.

Wearable Healthcare Tech

Wearable tech is the latest buzz in personal smart devices. Wearable devices are smart gadgets mostly worn as bracelets, neckless, or patches. These devices can pair and communicate with other smart devices like smartphones and computers and relay crucial real-time information to the user.

Some of the wearable devices in the healthcare sector include heartrate monitors, blood pressure monitors, fitness and movement trackers, biosensors, and ECG monitors. The devices track and record specific vitals, which can then be analyzed at the doctor’s office using AI-powered tools to make an early diagnosis or measure the results of particular treatments.

The healthcare industry will continue to see more useful innovations as technology continues to evolve. The goal of all this is to improve healthcare provision and accessibility. Through the use of AI and robotics, many healthcare facilities are already experiencing an uptick in patient satisfaction and workflow efficiency.
