Introducing Fasetto Link, The Wireless 2TB SSD That You Can Keep in Your Pocket

A US-based startup called Fasetto has begun showing off a very tiny SSD external drive that’s small enough to fit into a jeans pocket and goes by the name of ‘Link.’ Currently available in three sizes – 256GB, 512GB, and 2TB – this little gadget uses Wi-Fi to wirelessly connect with smartphones, tablets, laptops, and other supported devices.

Link is just 2 inch x 2 inch in size weighs just a fraction over 100 grams. It is MIL-STD 810G certified for ruggedness and an IP68 certification for water resistance. The gadget also comes with supporting software that allows you to access your files and even seamlessly backs up content from your computing devices. You can even grant permission for guests to view specific content inside the gadget.

Link will be able to connect up to 30 devices at once whilst allowing 15 devices to stream content together. The battery is also quite impressive having the ability to stream 5 hours on connected devices. An external battery can also be added to Link, pushing the time up to 8 hours. You will have the ability to add other accessories to Link, for example, there is an accessory that could allow your Link to connect to 4G networks.

In terms of pricing, The 256GB variant of Link begins at $349 (approximately R5 000), $499 (approximately R7 000) for the 512GB one, and the 2TB version coming with a hefty $1,149 (approximately Rs. 78,000) pricetage.

The Fasetto Link is currently available for preorder on Fasetto’s website and the shipping date is estimated to be April 2017.
