South African Students Improve their Knowledge Management Skills with Flowcite

Flowcite – an innovative platform for academic writing – is gaining popularity among college and university students in South Africa. Having launched two months ago, the service now has over 15% of its customers from South Africa.

Intending to radically speed up and simplify the paper writing process for students, Flowcite offers a new approach to managing homework and thesis. The platform represents an all-in-one workspace for paper creation that unites a scientific library, citation and reference storage, and some of the most popular software tools used for academic writing.

The platform’s functionality consists of core and add-on services. The core features include:

  • AI-based information search across more than 20 million articles from the best knowledge libraries, such as Plos, Core, elife, doaj, and others. The articles are available in English, Afrikaans and other languages;
  • Unlimited personal storage for citations, references, and PDFs;
  • Browser plugin for saving web-references;
  • MS Word plugin allowing to add saved citations and references into a Word paper and adjust them to more than 7000 citation styles in just one click;
  • AI-driven grammar check tool for on-the-fly suggestions about style, grammar, and punctuation.

Above that, the platform provides access to on-demand services such as paper proofreading by a subject expert, similarity checker, and bind-and-print service with express worldwide delivery.

Flowcite is designed to help students arrange the paper writing process into an intuitive workflow. With the smart multi-functional tab structure, it allows to research, read, save, and work all at the same time. Statistic tools integrated into the dashboard track the student’s daily, weekly, and monthly activities, therefore helping to manage time most efficiently. With Flowcite a student can save the time spent searching and navigating between separate referencing, citation, literature management, plagiarism check, and other apps, and spend it on the actual writing.

Having launched on April, 24th as a beta version, Flowcite has very quickly grown its subscriber base to hundreds of customers in 29 countries. South Africa has soon topped this list by the number of users with almost 15% of all Flowcite customers coming from there. “We are very impressed by how scrupulous South African students are about the quality of their papers and their academic performance. Apart from actively using Flowcite, they gave us a lot of valuable feedback, which helped us improve our service and gave the confidence to choose South Africa as the first market for our official launch. We are proud to have customers from top public universities, such as Cape Town, Rhodes, Pretoria, Free State, North West, and other. We hope to increase cooperation with local colleges and universities in the nearest future” – says Katya Churbanova, PR-manager of Flowcite.

With a mission to provide easy access to knowledge for everyone, Flowcite is available on a freemium basis. Its key features like Information Search and Reference Management are free. A fee is charged for the add-on services, which are priced separately on demand.
