The Google Clock is currently available on devices such as Nexus, running stock Android. So, to all Android smartphone users who aren’t exactly comfortable or satisfied with the current clock app that their device originally came with by the manufacturer of the device, the Google Clock app will help you get a much more personalized feel and experience.

In terms of functionality of the Google Clock App, it’s pretty similar to other clock apps – showing you the time based on your location and features a world clock where you will be allowed to add the city of your choice and see the time of that selected region. Other functions include: A timer, alarm and stopwatch.

Even though Google usually rolls out an update for its Clock app whenever a major Android version is rolled out, it seems like their decision to bring the app to Google Play would make it much easier for them to roll out regular upgrades. This also allows for users of smartphones with heavily customised Android and native apps developed by the manufacturer the option to use the Google Clock instead.

The Google Clock app is 6.6mb (v4.0.1, the same in the Android M Ddeveloper Preview). With regards to compatibility, the app will only be available for download to devices running Android 4.4 KitKat and later OS.
