Haunted, the latest single from Janine V and a collaboration with one of SA’s hottest rappers – Reason, is NOW available via digital download from http://www.slikouronlife.co.za/music-janine-v-x-reason-haunted/
The song was written by Janine about the impossibility of relationships and is raw and full of emotion. Janine explains that she always knew that Reason was the only person she wanted to record it with.
“When I wrote the song I knew I wanted Reason to feature on it. His real, angry and raw lyrics were what attracted me to his talent and I knew there was no other fit. That was 6 months before I finally met him. He heard the track and was blown away, asking me if I was sure I needed a rapper on the track. Eventually he agreed to collaborate and that is how Haunted became what it is today.”
Haunted is the first single off-of Janine’s upcoming album that will be released in early 2016. She is currently in Dubai on an international performing contract whilst recording the album that will feature some of SA’s biggest acts.
The album will showcase Janine V’s unique style and talents as a vocalist, a songwriter, and a co-producer and will incorporate her trademark sound – merging movie soundtrack style with hip-hop. Janine’s sound is influenced heavily by the 1940- 1960’s era, and her original songs merge scintillating vocals with cabaret/ burlesque and a touch of hip hop, creating a sound that overcomes all barriers and cultural divides.

In 2010 Janine joined Durban based band “Intransit”, and played at venues around Durban before touring with international band, “Slam Factory Project” and later returned to Durban to begin working on her studio projects.
Sharing stages and producers with the best local talent, she did not miss a beat when she performed for “Kool and The Gang” at VaccaMatta, at Suncoast Casino on their SA tour. Impressed by her captivating performance, Janine was then asked to perform at their VIP party the next night as well.
