Images of what looks like a slimmer, smaller variant of the PS4 have just surfaced online!
This mini console features an all matte finish, with the Eject and Power buttons found on the left. Even thought it may have reduced in size, it still holds its rhombus shape, with the edges now rounded instead of being edgy like the original PS4. Rubber grips and the optical out port which were clearly visible in the original PS4 are nowhere to be found in this new mini console. This new mini console, also known as PS4 Slim has the following model number: CUH-2016A.
Sony seems to be following suit with their previous Playstation consoles. The PS3 got a size reduction almost three years after release in 2009 while the PS1 and PS2 had smaller revisions to their hardware as well.
Apart from all of the speculation about the PS4 Slim, it looks very likely that the PS4 Neo will also finally be announced an event on September 7 at 3pm ET in New York City, which will be 9pm here in South Africa.
