The Samsung Galaxy A53 5G has landed!… And we’re absolutely privileged to have been given the device to take it for a spin. First things first – The Samsung Galaxy A53 5G is the follow-up to the highly successful Galaxy A52 5G and Galaxy A52s launched last year. There isn’t a drastic change with regards to its predecessors, however Samsung seems to have refined its Galaxy A device in many of the right ways and that’s exactly what we’re about to show you…
The Galaxy A53 5G has been upgraded to a 5,000mAh battery (an increase of 500mAh) but retains 25W wired USB Power Delivery charging. In terms of photography, the cameras haven’t changed either, you’re looking at a 64MP primary lens as the show stopper. The device also features a 12MP ultrawide, 5MP macro, and 5MP depth lenses for extra flexibility, though again all of these are identical to the previous generation phones.
The slight downside we’ve noticed with the Galaxy A53 5G is that it seems to have followed an unfortunate trend in budget devices — we’re referring to the charger no longer being included in the box – it’s just a USB-C cable and a SIM ejector tool. Oh yes, and the startup paperwork of course!
As we mentioned earlier, the camera hasn’t changed from its predecessor but you should bare in mind that this isn’t entire a bad thing. For instance, the 64MP primary sensor does capture stunning images across the board as well as offering plenty of shooting modes to bring out your creativity. The 12MP ultrawide sensor boasts a 123-degree field of view with the 5MP macro lens and a 5MP depth sensor rounding out the setup.
When it comes to the battery size, Samsung seems to have settled on the idea that bigger is indeed better at least when it comes to its mid-range devices. The Galaxy A53 5G’s battery picked up an extra 500mAh over the previous model’s capacity, bringing it to 5,000mAh. This places it on the same level as the high-end Galaxy S22 Ultra!
In summary, we can clearly see that the Galaxy A53 5G doesn’t reinvent the wheel, but we’ve also gathered that there is no reason for that anyway. Samsung instead decided to refine the already impressive Galaxy A52 5G as well as lower the pricing. The drop in cost is another reason why this device has caught the attention of many. What do you do if you already have a Galaxy A52 5G? Well, honestly we don’t feel that there is enough new here to consider an upgrade, however if you’ve been looking for a reasonably priced way to enter the Samsung ecosystem, the Galaxy A53 5G should definitely be high up there on your list!
