A few weeks ago, we were lucky enough to get our hands on one of TECNO Mobile’s flagship devices, the TECNO Spark 7 Pro. This is what we thought about the device…
First things first – If you didn’t know already, just a year ago TECNO was one of the highest-selling smartphone brands in Africa!
Yes – This device may fit right into the mid-range smartphone category, however it really packs a punch compared to what its competitors has to offer within this category.
In terms of appearance, the device is pretty sleek – it feels like a premium device. Nothing about the appearance or feel indicates that is mid-range and that is definitely a positive to start off with!
When you power on the device – You will notice that it runs on Hi OS (Android-based OS) designed by TECNO exclusively for its own devices.
One of our favourite aspects about the device is the 5000 mAh battery. You can easily get two full days of continuous use on the device without a charge. 4GB RAM + 128GB internal storage capacity isn’t bad at all considering the device is within the mid-tier range.
The device doesn’t seem to disappoint in the photography side of it either – featuring a triple-lens camera, with the main camera being a 48MP, PDAF lens with quad-LED flash along with a 8MP front-facing camera. We managed to shoot pretty epic shots a few areas in Durban, South Africa. We will be adding these in a few days from now – Stay tuned for that!

For the value – The TECNO Spark 7 Pro seems to offers quite a lot compared to its competitors. Premium design, good performance and a camera that won’t leave you disappointed. We cannot emphasize enough on how good the battery is either. If you’re looking for a mid-range smartphone, this should definitely be in your Top 3 list!
