Samsung Galaxy S25 Series to Use Older Display Tech for Cost Efficiency

Samsung is reportedly planning to cut costs on its upcoming Galaxy S25 series by using older display technology. The Galaxy S25 series, expected to launch in early 2025, will feature displays made with M13 organic materials instead of the newer M14 materials. This decision is aimed at reducing manufacturing expenses, but it may result in slightly lower display efficiency and brightness compared to competitors like the iPhone 16 Pro and Google Pixel 9 Pro, which use M14 materials.

The Galaxy S25 series will include three models: the Galaxy S25, S25+, and S25 Ultra. Despite the cost-cutting measures, the Galaxy S25 Ultra will continue to use Gorilla Glass Armor to reduce screen reflectivity, ensuring better visibility in bright conditions.

While this move may help Samsung maintain its profit margins, it remains to be seen whether the savings will be passed on to consumers. The decision to use older display technology highlights the ongoing challenge for tech companies to balance innovation with cost management.
