SAP has been recognised as one of South Africa – and the world’s – top employers in the latest Global Top Employers 2019 rankings. The annual, international research undertaken by the Top Employers Institute recognises leading employers around the world that provide excellent employee conditions, nurture and develop talent throughout all levels of the organisation, and strive to continuously optimise employment practices.
SAP South Africa has received Top Employer certification again this year, ranked eighth against 200 submissions. SAP has also received global certification for excellence in employment conditions and is one of only 14 organisations to achieve the Global Top Employers 2019 certification, in addition to individual certifications in countries across Europe and in North and South America.
Cathy Smith, Managing Director of SAP Africa, said: “This prestigious certification in so many of our key markets is a strong endorsement of SAP’s efforts to provide a consistent and meaningful employee experience around the world. SAP is committed to providing a workplace where people are inspired, engaged, and empowered to reach their full potential.”
The Top Employers Institute assessed SAP’s employee offerings on the criteria of talent strategy, workforce planning, on-boarding, learning and development, performance management, leadership development, career and succession management, compensation and benefits, and company culture.
“Modern workers demand more than a paycheque from their employers: they want a purpose-driven organisation that strives beyond pure profit to bring lasting, positive change to the world,” adds Smith. “Without a transformational purpose, organisations will find it increasingly challenging to attract and retain top talent. This recognition is testament to SAP’s commitment to use technology to transform industries, grow economies, lift societies and sustain our environment, in line with the ambitions of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.”
Aside from South Africa, SAP has also been awarded the “2019 Global Top Employer” certification in Australia, Belgium, Brazil, Canada, China, Colombia, Czech Republic, Egypt, France, Germany, India, Indonesia, Israel, Italy, Japan, Mexico, Philippines, Saudi Arabia, Spain, Switzerland, Turkey, United Kingdom, and the United States. The company has also been certified as a regional Top Employer in Europe, the Middle East, North America and the Asia-Pacific region.
