It seems like the month of September is really going to be a busy one for all the Tech lovers around the world! FIFA 15, iPhone 6, XBOX One, Galaxy Note 4 & now… Windows 9! A new report has surfaced suggesting that Microsoft is pumped up and ready to give the world a little taste of their new-generation computer operating system that will succeed Windows 8.
The even is currently being planned for the 30 September at which they will showcase the OS called ‘Windows 9’. Microsoft is expected to release a developer preview as early as October before releasing a public preview by the end of the year.
Some of the features of Windows 9 OS that have leaked in these past few months:
- Ubuntu-style virtual desktop feature for users to stay organised and use their apps on multiple virtual desktops within a single PC system (with or without multiple monitor screens).
- Removal of the Charms Bar, which debuted on Windows 8
- Two-column Start menu that combines Modern apps and desktop apps. The update is also expected to bring the ability to run Modern Windows apps in windowed mode, which could tie in with the virtual desktops feature as well.
While a public preview may be released before the end of the year, the general public release is only expected in April 2015.
