Bitcoin Events’ 5th annual Blockchain Africa Conference will take place in Johannesburg on 28 February-1 March 2019 and in Cape Town on 6 March 2019, and is set to be a sold-out event yet again. Blockchain experts, thought leaders, innovators, disruptors, business leaders and entrepreneurs from around the globe will come together to network, learn about and share their insights around blockchain technology.

The conference will focus on how blockchain technology can move Africa forward and positively impact various industries and organisations, as well as millions of people’s lives in Africa by improving existing systems and processes.
What can you expect at the conference?
The conference will explore the blockchain’s innovative opportunities for Africa, a developing continent facing the challenges of an unbanked majority, corruption, cumbersome and untraceable transactions, and poor record-keeping. By embracing emerging technologies such as blockchain technology, Africa could potentially expedite its development. The blockchain offers financial inclusion for everyone, cheaper cross-border transactions, a transparent, unalterable and secure system of recording transactions, efficient management of large amounts of data, and much more.
There’ll be interactive panel discussions, and expert speakers will look at various use cases by both financial and non-financial institutions; from Initial Coin Offerings (ICOs), a new mechanism for crowd funding, to blockchain start-ups working to ensure transparent and trustworthy elections in Africa.
The areas of focus include blockchain for enterprise, blockchain 3.0, blockchain platforms and strategies, cryptocurrency and financial services, developing blockchain applications, blockchain for business, blockchain technologies and blockchain workshops.
