Earlier Today, Facebook launched an all new online Marketplace allowing members of the social network in and around your area to buy and sell with each other.

This new feature is set to compete with other well established local online selling platforms led by Craigslist, and offers an alternative to marketplaces such as eBay.
The statement from Facebook is that this will formalize what members in Facebook Groups have already been doing for the last few years.
This new added feature will display images of items for sale based on proximity, and users will be able to adjust their location and search for specific items or categories.
At the moment, the feature will only be rolling out to over-18 users in the United States, Britain, Australia, and New Zealand on the Facebook app for both iPhone and Android, while other countries will get the update within the new few months which will also include a desktop version.
