rain, South Africa’s first data-only network has expanded its Pargo Pickup Point reach by an impressive count. With 276 points added since last year, there are now 589 Pargo Pickup Points inside participating Clicks stores in Gauteng, KZN, the Western Cape, North West, the Eastern Cape and Free State.
Customers can find their nearest participating Clicks store by going to rain.co.za, and clicking on ‘pick up a 4G SIM today’. This will take users to a map showing all the rain Pargo Pickup Points and addresses in the country.
When arriving at their selected Clicks, customers just need to look out for the Pargo signs to locate a collection point and then request a rain 4G SIM. SIM cards are free. Once collected, they can head to rain.co.za to activate.
When activating a SIM, there’s a choice between unlimited 4G for any device for only R479 a month, 19 hours unlimited off-peak data for any device for only R250 a month or unlimited 4G for phones for just R299 a month. Plus, there are no contracts, customers can switch plans at any time.
To RICA and activate, customers will need the two unique codes on their SIM packaging—rain will point these out. A valid South African ID or passport (SA or non-SA), a proof of address (like a bank statement, phone bill or store account) not older than three months, and their smartphone.
Customers can also shop the range of 4G products and activate their SIMs on the myrain app – which is available on the Google Play Store or Huawei AppGallery. But for those wanting a 4G SIM right away—at no cost, a Pargo Pickup Point is a convenient option.
Their partnership with Pargo also means that people in previously difficult to reach areas can now access rain’s affordable, unlimited 4G data products almost instantly.
