Google has introduced Gemini Advanced, marking its official launch. Following numerous reports and affirmations from Google CEO Sundar Pichai during the company’s quarterly earnings call, the subscription tier of Google’s highly potent AI model is now available. Additionally, Bard, the complimentary version of the generative AI chatbot, has been rebranded as Gemini and now operates on the Gemini Pro model. As part of a promotional deal, Gemini Advanced is currently available at no cost for a two-month trial period.
Pichai disclosed the introduction of the AI’s subscription tier through the company’s newsroom, stating, “The version with Ultra will be called Gemini Advanced, a new experience far more capable at reasoning, following instructions, coding, and creative collaboration.” He also unveiled that the Gemini Advanced subscription will be integrated into the Google One AI Premium plan and packaged with Google One. Consequently, subscribers will enjoy all the additional perks of Google One along with 2TB of cloud storage space.
Emphasizing its attributes, a separate publication highlighted that Gemini Ultra can “create step-by-step instructions, sample quizzes or back-and-forth discussions” and function as a personal tutor for users seeking academic guidance or skills enhancement. The Ultra variant excels in advanced coding and aids users in generating, analysing, editing, and debugging intricate coding assignments. Moreover, digital creators can leverage the Google Advanced subscription for content creation, trend analysis, and for receiving suggestions and inspiration to enhance engagement and expand their audience base.”
Gemini’s complimentary edition (based on Gemini Pro) and Gemini Advanced will be accessible on the website and via an Android application. iOS users can experiment with the AI assistant by utilizing the Google app.
