PlayStation Portal Gains Cloud Streaming for PS5 Games: Everything You Need to Know

In a significant update, Sony has introduced cloud streaming support for select PS5 games on the PlayStation Portal, enhancing the handheld device’s capabilities. This new feature is currently available in beta for PS Plus Premium subscribers and aims to provide more flexibility and convenience for gamers.

The cloud streaming feature allows users to stream over 120 PS5 games from the PlayStation Plus Game Catalog without needing a PS5 console. Some of the popular titles available for cloud streaming include Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales, Ghost of Tsushima, Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart, and Monster Hunter Rise. The streaming quality supports up to 1080p at 60fps, ensuring a smooth and enjoyable gaming experience.

To access the cloud streaming beta, users need a minimum internet speed of 7Mbps for 720p resolution and 13Mbps for 1080p resolution. The beta is currently available in select regions, including Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Canada, Croatia, Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Republic of Cyprus, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, United Kingdom, and the United States.

This update also includes refinements in the audio experience, such as speaker audio output adjustment and sidetone volume control. Additionally, users can now adjust settings of their PlayStation Link device from the PS Portal Settings menu.
