Huawei has officially confirmed that its much-anticipated Watch GT 6 Series will make its global debut on 19 September 2025 at the company’s “Ride the Wind” product launch event in Paris. The announcement cements weeks of speculation and sets the stage for one of the year’s most significant wearable tech reveals.
The Paris showcase will not only introduce the Watch GT 6 lineup but also unveil new Huawei smartphones and tablets. While the company has kept exact product names under wraps, industry chatter points to possible appearances from the MatePad Air 12 and MatePad 11.5 S alongside the wearables.
What’s in the Watch GT 6 Series?
Huawei is expected to launch at least two models:
- Huawei Watch GT 6 (standard)
- Huawei Watch GT 6 Pro
Rumours suggest both will be available in 41mm and 46mm sizes, mirroring the GT 5 series. Early teasers reveal two distinct design directions – one sporty with a red-accented rotating crown and silver finish, and another sleek, black variant with thin bezels.
The GT series has built its reputation on robust health tracking and long battery life, and the GT 6 is set to push those boundaries further. Expected upgrades include:
- Enhanced TruSense health monitoring system for more accurate heart rate, sleep, and stress tracking
- Expanded sports mode library with over 100 workout types
- Improved GPS precision – possibly via the new “Sunflower Positioning System” for better outdoor activity tracking
- 5 ATM water resistance for swimming and water sports
Battery life is tipped to remain a standout, with up to 14 days on a single charge under typical use.
Leaks suggest a variety of finishes and colours, including Gold, Purple, Brown, Green, and Titanium. Huawei’s design philosophy continues to blend premium aesthetics with durability, appealing to both fitness enthusiasts and style-conscious users.
Huawei’s wearables division is on a growth streak. As of mid-2025, the company had shipped over 200 million units globally, with a 42.4% year-on-year increase in Q1 shipments – enough to secure the top spot in the global wearables market.
The choice of Paris for the global launch mirrors last year’s GT 5 debut on the same date. It underscores Huawei’s strategy of positioning its wearables as fashion-forward lifestyle accessories as much as high-performance tech.
Beyond the GT 6 series, Huawei is expected to use the event to:
- Showcase new tablet innovations like the PaperMatte Display for improved reading and writing
- Launch the GoPaint creative programme to engage digital artists worldwide
- Strengthen its appeal to younger, style-conscious consumers with tech that bridges fashion and function
