FNB customers will soon be able to add the highly anticipated Samsung S5 to their smart device portfolio.
The S5 which includes new features such as a fingerprint scanner and heart-rate sensor can be ordered from FNB.co.za website or by sending “deal” to 31138 via SMS, from the 11th of April 2014.
Kartik Mistry, Head of Smart Devices at FNB Core Banking Solutions attended the S5 launch in Spain earlier this year and says:
“Samsung’s key launch focus was on innovating the mobile device through its extended peripherals. Merged with a lot of the same robust features available on its previous model, the new model includes the fingerprint scanner for security as well as an infrared reader which can be used for diagnostics in healthcare. For the photography enthusiast the S5 offers a 16MP camera, and has functionality that provides similar images to a single-lens reflex (SLR) camera.”
The bank applies qualifying criteria and approved customers can expect to receive their device within 5 – 7 working days whilst those who wish to purchase their device in store can do so at one of nationwide dotFNB branches.
“To date, a total of 9 400 Samsung S4 devices have been sold through the FNB smart device offer and we expect that the uptake on the S5 will be similar if not quicker,” concludes Mistry.
