It’s still the fitness market that offers the most instantly visible way of how wearable tech can transform our lives. 2016 has already seen a string of releases including the Garmin Forerunner 235 that provides a groundbreaking way to track your fitness levels and map your exercise activities.

A big part of how these devices have become an invaluable tool in the arsenal of any fitness enthusiast is the way that they can graph calories, steps, heart rate and even sleeping patterns. And through a wider range of apps being specially designed for wearables, it looks like we will soon all be able to enjoy watching movies and playing mobile games with added convenience.

But certain devices such as the Fitbit Alta have been providing some surprising examples of how slimline these powerful pieces of kit have become. And with Google and Levi’s teaming up to create a ‘connected jacket’, it looks like wearable tech is becoming increasingly stylish too.

The Levi’s Commuter jacket will enable users to navigate, receive notifications and answer phone calls all through a series of sensors on the jacket’s wrist. At the moment the prototype still has to be teamed up with a smartphone to work properly, but it now poses the fascinating prospect of enabling the user to skip through playlists on Spotify and game on the go at the Lucky Nugget Casino site and take it anywhere thanks to the ultra user-friendly wearable design.

It’s not only iconic fashion brands like Levi’s who’ve been quick to jump aboard the wearables bandwagon, as certain legendary watchmakers have also sought to revamp their brand through some stylish smartwatches.

In particular it’s the latest TAG Heuer Connected watch that manages to provide perhaps the most classic take on wearable tech so far. Although it’s not exactly cheap, it builds upon the brand’s reputation for elegance by using luxurious materials and a striking design to cater to even the most fashionable of tech enthusiasts.

And of course, the TAG Heuer smartwatch is equipped with the latest Android wearable technology meaning that you’ll be first in line to enjoy a more convenient way to receive notifications, keep fit and play those mobile casino games on the go.
