Alcatel South Africa has taken its water, dust and shock resistant ALCATEL GO PLAY smartphone on the road as one of the many sponsors of the Color Run in Pretoria. It has also hit some of South Africa’s major university campuses nationwide with a series of fun and interactive events.
Alcatel was one of the sponsors of the latest Color Run, held in Pretoria on 14 May 2016. As part of this, Alcatel gave away tickets to social media followers ahead of the event. Runners on the day kept a look out for the Alcatel watering hole as they made their way to the finish line in South Africa’s most psychedelic road race.
The weather on race day failed to put a damper on the occasion – owners of the water resistant Alcatel GO PLAY could snap selfies with no fear of damaging their devices. At the end of the race, participants could kick back and relax in the festival zone, with some music and get a hands-on demo of the GO PLAY smartphone.
Alcatel also took the fun and games to various campuses during May, visiting the universities of Cape Town, Johannesburg, Witwatersrand, and Kwa-Zulu Natal as well as Tshwane University of Technology. To highlight the rugged design of the GO PLAY smartphone, students got to go wild with exciting props to create their ultimate selfie, and the fun was captured in a slow motion video. As part of this, students who participated stood a chance to win a brand new Alcatel Go Play smartphone.
