Sthembiso Zondi (Head of Software Development) said “BET Software is present at DevConf to learn from others whilst showcasing why we are the company to work for as well as to let others know that there’s a ‘new kid on the block’ and as much as we play hard, we have very fun moments.”
Grant Meldrum (National Business Development Executive) expressed what a successful, eventful and knowledgeable day it had been meeting and interacting with different developers. He also singled out the session (A Developer’s Odyssey To Overcoming Fear, Anxiety And Burnout) by Johan Olivier with regards to the importance on developing non-technical skills which assists immensely towards mental health – reducing fear, anxiety and burnout.
Ronald Mariah (DevOps Lead at BET Software) emphasized the importance of how using kubernetes can solve current environment issues, having a replicated environment and feature branches to isolate testing specific feature before going into production.
Nombulelo Ngcaku (Senior Talent Acquisition Specialist) stated what a privilege it had been to join the other BET Software team members in attending #DevConf2023. As part of the talent team, she’s there to let others know what they do as BET Software and on the other hand meeting and networking with so many interesting people.
Bryan Labuschagne (Software Development Engineer) found the talk about satellites really cool, especially being able to trace a satellite through programming. He also mentioned the talk regarding password strength was very informative and educational at the same time. He described #DevConf2023 as “lovely, great atmosphere and nice people.”
Thashvir Rajcoomar (Website Developer) summarized #DevConf2023 “The vibe is quite nice here, we get to mingle with a lot of people in the same space as us. Its nice to see more like-minded people and learning new technologies from them as well as learning where we can implement things we don’t currently have. It’s a cool learning experience and its also fun!”
