The Lifestyle Top Up Medium package includes a monthly allocation of 100 minutes, 300 MB of data and 100 SMSes. When compared to once-off prepaid bundles for similar allocations, a customer would spend nearly double the current price for the same value. According to Len Pienaar, CEO at FNB Connect, the change forms part of FNB’s focus to help customers with money management, which includes being efficient on telco spend.
“The Lifestyle Top Up package is a month to month package that is ideal for our traditional pre-paid customers but offer pricing normally only associated with a fixed term contract. No credit checks are required and a customer can cancel the package or change it with a month’s notice. The review is aligned with FNB Connect’s ongoing business strategy to ensure that its offerings provide superior value for money and increased customer satisfaction,” says Pienaar.
“Data usage is consistently growing, but voice still accounts for a large portion of the average consumer’s monthly spend and we believe that this package will satisfy both needs. More importantly, the integration of FNB Connect in the Bank’s ecosystem means that customers can actively manage their banking and telco via the same platforms,” he adds.
This announcement follows the upgrade of Connect’s network service to allow for better data coverage and speed. Since inception, FNB Connect has been growing its appeal to FNB customers, reporting a base of approximately 700 000 users in December 2018. This is a firm indication that Connect is increasingly becoming a telco provider of choice among FNB customers.
