Vedic Maths Forum South Africa offers local youth the opportunity to learn Vedic Maths – the ‘world’s fastest mental Maths system’. Through online tutoring sessions, learners gain access to virtual classrooms where they receive one-on-one Mathematics tuition in the comfort of their own homes, from professionals around the world.
Mathematics education no longer has to be out-dated and impractical, explains Neshni Naidoo, the Director of Vedic Maths Forum South Africa. The objective is to empower primary school learners with the necessary skills to master everyday arithmetic. High speed calculations are taught that will not only improve their logical thinking, but also aims to ignite a deeper understanding and fascination of Mathematics as a field of interest.
Specialised Mathematics tuition is also offered in line with the South African Mathematics school curriculum and learners have the added benefit of deepening their knowledge and skill beyond the classroom. The Forum has also hosted a number of workshops with local teachers, sharing with them the methods behind Vedic Maths in an effort to enhance their own Mathematics teaching practices within our schools.
Furthermore, the forum also hosts a number of Maths Clubs at local primary schools in the Western Cape. Here learners are taught the fundamentals of Vedic Maths and will also go on to compete against teams from other schools in an annual Speed Math Challenge. For enrichment purposes, a number of added resources are also available to learners and teachers, including the Vedic Maths course, holiday programmes, books and DVD’s.
“My vision for Vedic Maths South Africa is to change the way we learn and teach Maths – to make it a fun and exciting subject and to demonstrate the value and impact it has in our lives,” explains Neshni Naidoo.
