A unique public/private partnership between the provincial government of KwaZulu-Natal and Deloitte has kick-started business initiatives across the province, providing impetus for job creation in urban and rural areas.
At the heart of the partnership between Deloitte KZN, the province’s Treasury Department and the Department of Economic Development and Tourism is a unique ‘KZN Funding Fair’ that aims to initiate and facilitate face-to-face contact between project promoters, entrepreneurs, business development bodies, venture capital and private equity investors as well as debt funders.
Now in its third year, The KZN Funding Fair has grown to include the Business Funding Fair (originally the KZN Funding Fair), the SME Funding Fair and the Infrastructure Funding Fair.
Project Promoters
Entrepreneurs and project promoters, who will have undergone an initial selection process, will each be given a time slot in which to pitch their business propositions and funding requests to a panel representing major funding bodies.
Projects promoters who meet the initial assessment criteria will be contacted directly and emailed the necessary details to attend the project pitch sessions in April.
Project Funders
Funders and investors are invited to attend selected pitches from entrepreneurs and project promoters at the all KZN Funding Fair. Where funders and investors like the initial pitch, they are able to arrange follow-up one-on-one meetings with the project promoters concerned.
Project Funders partaking in the KZN Funding Fair, will be required to:
- Attend selected funding pitches from entrepreneurs and project promoters.
- Set up and man a designated stand in an exhibition area for the duration of the funding fair.
There is no charge for the key funding bodies to be present, however costs related to transport, accommodation, setup of the exhibition area stand etc. will be for own account.
If you are a project funder interested in partaking in any of the KZN Funding Fairs, please email: KZNFundingFair@deloitte.com.
