Today, Microsoft announced availability of a new Windows 10 Insider Preview build for PCs to participants in the Fast and Slow rings of the Windows Insider Program. Build 10240 contains several updates which further prepare Windows 10 for release starting July 29. This includes the removal of the desktop watermark and the implementation of changes to Office apps branding and licensing requirements announced last March.
Unlike previous updates, this build will only be made available through Windows Update. Insiders may wait for the automatic update, or go to Start > Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update > Check for updates to manually receive the update.
As a reminder, the Windows 10 Insider Preview is designed for hardware experts who are comfortable downloading unfinished software, preferably on a secondary device. Windows 10 will be available broadly starting July 29.
