Nokia Set to Launch Its Next Android Smartphone before MWC 2018

HMD Global is expected to launch its latest Nokia smartphones running on Android, on 25 February, just ahead of MWC 2018 after sending out invites for the launch event that will be held in Barcelona, which is also the host city for the mobile trade show.

If we take a look back at MWC 2017, HMD Global had unveiled its global lineup of handsets including the reboot of its iconic Nokia 3310 feature phone. This year, rumours suggest that HMD Global will launch the Nokia 9 flagship as well as the Android Oreo (Go edition) based Nokia 1 smartphone.

Apart from the Nokia 9, Nokia 1, Nokia 6 (2018), and Nokia 3310 4G, the Nokia 7 (exclusive to China) may also be unveiled for a global audience. The Nokia 4 hasn’t yet been leaked, however is still a possibility of being one of the devices to be launched. A 4G variant of the Nokia 3310 that recently emerged on TENAA certification site with Android-based YunOS could also be unveiled officially.

The Nokia 9 and Nokia 1 could steal the limelight at the event with the Nokia 9 being rumoured to feature top-of-the-line specifications while the Nokia 1 could be one of the first smartphones to run Android Go.
