OpenAI has officially announced its new subscription plan for ChatGPT known as ‘ChatGPT Plus.’ This will cost $20 (approximately R340) per month. ChatGPT Plus will give you priority access to the AI chatbot during peak time where free users would have to wait. According to OpenAI, on this subscription plan you will also receive faster response times as well as priority access to new features and improvements.
OpenAI has also hinted that ChatGPT Plus might be the first of several plans to come. According to their blog post, the company will be “actively exploring” options for lower-cost plans, business plans as well as data packs in addition to an API.
So, what does this mean for the free option of ChatGPT?
The company also added, “We love our free users and will continue to offer free access to ChatGPT. By offering this subscription pricing, we will be able to help support free access availability to as many people as possible. We plan to refine and expand this offering based on your feedback and needs.”
