If we call these to be hard times for Samsung, it will be regarded as an understatement right now. Earlier this month, consumers were asked to to stop using their Galaxy Note 7 devices due to battery issues that caused some of smartphone units to explode while charging. Samsung has since then announced a global recall for the device and started handing out replacement units that it claimed were safe. Now, it seems like these replacement devices have their own ‘non-explosive’ issues.
Reports coming through from reliable sources in South Korea have suggested that users are having issues with their Galaxy Note 7 replacement units. Issues being faced with these replacement units are overheating and losing some amount of battery power even when they are plugged in for charging.
At this point in time, the company has not yet spoken about the total number of cases that have been registered with these problems, however, a Samsung representative has stated that these new issues are completely unrelated to the battery on the device. He went on and also said that these issues are related to mass production of the smartphone the situation is being closely observed.
There has been an official recall of about 1 million Galaxy Note 7 devices in the United States of America and the replacement program in the country kicked off last week. However, some users in the country have complained that the Galaxy Note 7 devices that have been bought from Samsung’s US website are apparently not being replaced and only refunded.
