Samsung Electronics Co will be bringing forward the launch date of their premium smartphone model (Galaxy Note 5) as they seek to re-build their sales after a slack second quarter.
Even though the Galaxy Note 3 & Galaxy Note 4 were launched in the month of Septemeber, the world’s top smartphone maker will apparently launch a new version of its Galaxy Note phablet in mid-August 2015 .
The mid-August launch will likely put the new Note smartphone model on the market ahead of arch-rival Apple Inc’s next iPhones.
Samsung is seeking to rebound from a disappointing 2014, when its annual profit hit a three-year low as smartphone earnings slumped. Though Samsung’s earnings are recovering, its second-quarter guidance of about R75,951,342.50.
The operating profit fell short of market expectations following a supply shortage for the curved-screen version of its flagship Galaxy S6 Edge smartphone.
