Telkom and Lightbulb Edtech Collaborate to Launch Innovative Online Learning Portal for High School Learners in KwaZulu Natal

Telkom Foundation, in partnership with Lightbulb Edtech, is set to transform the educational landscape in KwaZulu Natal with the launch of an advanced online learning portal, Lightbulb, tailored specifically for high school learners. The launch event is scheduled to take place on the 15th of May 2024 in eMondlo – Vryheid, featuring participation from 11 high schools in the area.

The collaboration between Telkom Foundation and Lightbulb Edtech brings forth a cutting-edge mobile learning management system and service, designed to empower educational institutions to provide customised online support services to their students. The online platform, Lightbulb, facilitates access to subject matter experts and digital resources, augmenting the learning experience and fostering academic excellence among users.

This nationwide educational initiative has already made significant strides in provinces such as Limpopo, Gauteng, Eastern Cape, and Western Cape, with countless learners benefitting from the platform’s undeniable advantages. Lightbulb covers a wide array of subjects, including English, Afrikaans, Mathematics, Natural Science, Physical Science, Geography, History, and Accounting, ensuring comprehensive support for high school students.

“We are excited to once again collaborate with Lightbulb Edtech to bring a transformative online learning platform to high school learners across South Africa enabling Telkom to contribute towards the future leaders of our country,” remarked Judy Vilakazi, Head of Telkom Foundation. “Education is a key driver of empowerment and development, and through this initiative, we aim to make quality educational resources accessible to all learners, regardless of their location or background.”
