The mobile operator asked clients to use Nedbank branches and M-Pesa outlets to move money to or from their accounts. This announcement comes after Vodacom revealed in November 2013 that it plans to relaunch M-Pesa during the first quarter of 2014.

Vodacom CEO Shameel Joosub said at the time that M-Pesa has “a couple of hundred thousands customers” in South Africa. According to Nedbank, M-Pesa has 1.2-million registered users.
