A FNB customer won R27.5 million through the FNB Banking App in the recent LOTTO Jackpot which stood at a record breaking R110 million. This comes as two other jackpot winners won R70 million and R2.5 million with PowerBall and LOTTO Plus 1 respectively at the beginning of the month.
The bank witnessed all time record high transaction volumes with LOTTO and PowerBall games this past weekend on its digital channels and has seen a 100% increase in customers playing the LOTTO in the last three months.
“Congratulations to our FNB winners. The purchasing of LOTTO tickets and other prepaid services through the bank’s digital platforms has significantly gained popularity. This is primarily due to our customer centric digital solutions that deliver on simplicity, convenience, innovation and flexibility,” says Shadrack Palmer, FNB Chief Commercial Officer, FNB Connect and Service Provider.
Palmer adds that, “We have paid out approximately R600 million over the last two years and in January 2018 alone, approximately R100 million was paid out through a combination of LOTTO, LOTTO PLUS, PowerBall and PowerBall Plus jackpots winnings via FNB’s Digital Channels.”
The start of the year can be quite stressful financially. “While we are not anticipating any relief on the current challenging market conditions we advise customers to be financially savvy and rather save or invest their winnings which will benefit them and their family in the long term,” advises Palmer.
Customers can play LOTTO and PowerBall conveniently via the FNB Banking App, Cellphone and Online Banking and can even purchase tickets using their eBucks.
